Raffle for a cause: How I'm taking control of my health for the future – and how you can help

ree

I'm Ellie – mum to my gorgeous, whirlwind of a one-year-old, Harry/H!

Later this month, I’ll be undergoing an elective double mastectomy, due to a genetic condition PTEN, I carry a significantly high risk of developing breast cancer. With this surgery, my chances drop by 95% – and that gives me the greatest gift of all: the best chance of being around for Harry for many years to come.

Harry, is my miracle baby. We went through over four years of pre-genetic diagnosis IVF to bring him into the world, navigating what felt like an emotional rollercoaster of hope, setbacks, and strength. Becoming a mum has been the most grounding and purposeful chapter of my life, and that’s exactly why I’m choosing to take this step now – while Harry is still young and doesn’t yet grasp what’s going on.

In the lead-up to surgery, I wanted to turn this challenging chapter into something uplifting and empowering. So, I’ve organised a raffle in support of Against Breast Cancer

Here’s what you could win for just £5 a ticket:

🎉 A £250 Champneys voucher – perfect for some much-needed relaxation

🎉 Local goodies including facials, reflexology treatments, salon vouchers

🎉 2 Hair treatments, days out, pampering packages and so much more!

You can buy a ticket and find out more here: - https://www.justgiving.com/page/elliesnewboobies

Every ticket helps support a cause that’s close to my heart and raises awareness for preventative options available to women with genetic risk factors. More than that – it helps me feel like I’m turning something scary into something powerful, positive, and full of community spirit.

If you’re a mum going through something tough, I want you to know this: you are not alone. There can be light on the other side of hard decisions. Sometimes the bravest thing we can do is take control of our own story – not just for ourselves, but for the little people we love more than anything.

Being Harry’s mum is the best job in the world. And that’s why I’m doing this – with love, strength, and a sprinkle of raffle-ticket magic.

Thank you for your support – and good luck if you enter!

Ellie xx
